Valentine is a gender-neutral name of Latin origin meaning “strong” or “healthy.” It is derived from the Latin word valens which means “strong and healthy,” and is related to the Latin names Valentinus and Valentinian. Valentine has biblical roots with over 50 saints and a pope sharing the same name. St. Valentine of the third century is the most notable of these saints and is often commemorated on February the 14th, making Valentine a befitting name for baby born in the month of February.
