The story behind the name
If you were a teen in the 1950s and 1960s, you probably thought teen idol singer Fabian was, in that era’s speak, dreamy. He was the Justin Bieber of his day (minus the bad-boy antics). So does this name still feel relevant in the 21st century? Absolutely! It’s always been and continues to be a hot baby name in U.S. Latino communities, as well as some European countries. Its popularity likely has more to do with the fact that Fabian was the name of a well-respected 3rd century pope, not the 20th-century crooner whose hits included “Kissin’ and Twistin.”
