The story behind the name
It goes without saying that Valkyrie is a pretty awesome-looking and sounding name! With Scandinavian origins, the name Valkyrie comes with an epic story to match. Valkyrie, or rather the Valkyries, were the attendants of Odin, the leader of all Norse gods. Valkyries would guide fallen heroes who had died in battle to the feasting hall on Valhalla where Odin and the other gods reside. Hence where we get Valkyrie’s meaning “chooser of the slain.”
