The story behind the name
Ali is a boy’s name of Arabic origins. It comes from the Arabic words aliy, meaning “sublime, high, exalted” and ala, which means “rise, ascend.” In the Quran, Ali was the cousin and son-in-law of the Prophet Muhammad and the first man to convert to Islam. More contemporarily, it is Aladdin’s royal alter ego in the Disney movie of the same name. Ali is a spiritually powerful choice for baby that will inspire him to lead a life of faith.
